This role will primarily support a long-term project in Florida, as well as the client’s backend networks and systems. This job is primarily remote, you can be based anywhere in the Continental US, but you’ll need to travel to Fort Myers, FL, and other locations occasionally for meetings, site visits, and customer support. Ideally, you hold a Nokia NRS-II certification (or higher). Additional training or certifications in Multicast and VPRN services would be a great bonus.
This role involves leading the design and implementation of Multicast VPRN services, working with IP/MPLS/BGP core networks, carrier Ethernet transport systems, and video transmission services. - Plan, design, implement, and document new network systems.
- Provide estimates and installation packages as needed.
- Offer troubleshooting and escalation support for operations teams.
As a senior engineer, you’ll need a deep understanding of IP/MPLS networks and the ability to manage engineering projects independently. Strong project management and troubleshooting skills are essential for ensuring everything runs smoothly and on time.
Qualifications & Skills:
- Solid understanding of engineering concepts such as high availability, redundancy, scalability, and security.
- Proficiency in network design tools, including Microsoft Visio.
- Hands-on experience with routers and switches from Alcatel/Nokia, Cisco, Extreme, or Juniper.
- Advanced knowledge of routing protocols like MPLS, BGP, ISIS, OSPF, EIGRP, etc.
- Familiarity with transport technologies (Ethernet, SONET, TDM, etc.), and WAN/video transport network design.
- Strong critical thinking, problem-solving, and communication skills.
- Ability to collaborate effectively with internal teams and clients.
Certifications & Education:
- Industry certifications (Nokia NRS, Cisco CCNA/CCNP, Brocade BCNE/BCNP, Juniper JNCIA/JNCIS) are highly valued.
- A Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Mathematics, Telecommunications, or a related field is required. A graduate degree may substitute for professional experience on a year-for-year basis.
Benefits:
- Medical, dental, and vision benefits
- HSA/FSA and EAP
- Training and tuition reimbursements
- Matching 401K plan
- Flexible time off and home office stipends
- Stock options for all employees
- Competitive salary and bonus, with uncapped earnings potential
